We're not an event venue. We're a house that's good at holding a group of people.
The Residence and the Carriage Haus share a courtyard at 107 Mill Street. Two big kitchens, two dining rooms, two living rooms, four bedrooms, three bathrooms, and downtown 1 block away. Thirty people is our ceiling, and only for something like a mixer — a workshop or a seated dinner is a smaller number.
There's no coordinator on staff and no banquet menu. What we can do is open the property to you, chat with you about spacing, and recommend vendors we've worked with before.
FOUR THINGS WE HOST

MIXERS & DINNER PARTIES
We've hosted a mixer of about thirty people: food down the length of the dining room, drinks in the next room, courtyard open through the evening. The kitchen is big and open enough to cook a real meal for a crowd, and with rented tables and chairs the dining room seats well past its usual eight.
Put the food in one room and the drinks in another. People move on their own and the house never bottlenecks.

RETREATS & WORKSHOPS
This is what we host most. Groups meet in the living room, break out into the other rooms across the two houses, eat at the dining table, and take breaks in the courtyard. Eleven people can sleep here, so a good part of the group never has to drive anywhere for two days.
Between the Residence and the Carriage Haus there are five or six rooms, plus the outdoor spaces, that work for breakout groups without anyone leaving the property.

PHOTO & VIDEO SHOOTS
Several shoots have worked out of the house — brand, lifestyle, and editorial. The draw is the number of different backdrops in one place: the living room takes light from two sides, there are antique mirrors on every floor, dark green walls in one room and wallpaper in the next, plus the staircase, the porch, and the courtyard.
The Carriage Haus living room is brightest room all day long. Other rooms between the two houses are brightest in the afternoon. Crews who've shot here book that window and use the darker rooms in the afternoon.
WEDDING MORNINGS
Many wedding parties have used the house the same way: everyone stays the night before and gets ready here in the morning. Three bedrooms and two baths upstairs means hair and makeup run at the same time, there are mirrors on every floor, and the ceremony was a short walk away.
Book the night before. Nobody drives across town half-dressed.

WHAT YOU GET
Thirty is the total across the property at once — a group that size spreads between the courtyard and the rooms rather than standing in any one of them.
GOOD TO KNOW
And only standing, like a mixer. Workshops and seated dinners work at a smaller number.
We have neighbors close on both sides, so the courtyard goes quiet at nine. Inside, the night can go longer as long as the music an conversation is not loud.
The Residence's kitchen- Large and open, fine for cooking or catering for a crowd — just not a commercial kitchen.
The courtyard is shared, so the whole property is the simplest way to do an event here.
We have 2 parking spaces on property, three if you are renting both houses. Street parking on Spring St. is a good option. Public lots are two blocks away.
Bring in more seating for a dinner and we'll tell you where it fits.
VENDORS WE RECOMMEND
We've worked with good people in all of these. Tell us what you need and we'll pass along names.
